Why Does My Dog Have Diarrhea

    Just like humans, from time to time your dog may get diarrhea. No need to panic just yet.  There are many reasons a dog can get diarrhea. Diarrhea can be a sign of stress, or a sign of something more serious. 

     If your dog traveled, or had a change in her environment it could be stressed related.  Diarrhea can also be a sign of an underlying illness such as bacterial or viral infection, intestinal disease, organ dysfunction or another illness.

    What to do if your dog has diarrhea

    If you believe it is stress related or something not so serious feed your dog a bland diet for a day or two. If the diarrhea begins to improve, no vomiting and your dog has a good appetite, you can start to slowly add your dog's normal food back into her diet. If your dog does not appear to be getting better, it would be best to contact your vet.

    What to feed your dog if she has diarrhea

    The Best food to feed your dog during this time is a bland diet. A bland diet may include any of these choices. Choose one or two of these foods and give your dog small amounts a few times a day. Most importantly is to make sure your dog has plenty of water during this time. Your dog can become dehydrate which can create further problems for her.
