Sweet potato is not only safe for dogs, but can provide our dog with great health benefits. Sweet potatoes are great for digestive health.  They are high in dietary fiber. Sweet Potatoes are low in fat and contain vitamin B6, vitamin C, and manganese.

Sweet potatoes are rich in the powerful antioxidant beta-carotene. Beta-carotene converts to Vitamin A in your dog’s body.  The conversion to Vitamin A is great for your  dog’s growth, vision,  and muscle strength.

In addition to all the health benefits, sweet potatoes are sweet and your furry friend will love them.

How to Give Your Dog Sweet Potatoes?

There are many dog foods that contain sweet potato and there are many manufactures making sweet potato treats. Our Boston Terrier loves Crumps Naturals, they are made in the Canada and have 1 ingredient. You guessed it Sweet Potatoe.  You can find them on Amazon and 1-800-petmeds.

My dog loves the treats but it started to become expensive, so I started to research DIY recipes.  I found recipes that used a microwave.  I found recipes that required a crock pot.  I also found a recipe that require slow cooking in the oven.
